Field Service Technician
Hawk Equipment Services, Inc. is a reputable provider of Gas Detection System services. We are currently seeking a skilled and independent Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Field Service Technician, you will have the opportunity to travel to various customer locations, taking charge of tasks such as system start-up, calibration, light installation, and repairs of diverse gas detection systems. In addition, you will play a crucial role in training plant personnel on the usage of these systems while ensuring accurate documentation for safety compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Independently perform calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of gas detection systems and sensors.
- Effectively communicate the operation scope and user functions of gas detection systems to plant personnel.
- Prepare comprehensive reports to meet safety documentation requirements as per industry standards, including OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and distributors to ensure proper maintenance and calibration of leak detection equipment and associated components.
- Analyze and determine the most suitable long-term repair methods, prioritizing the utilization of Hawk Equipment Services’ products when applicable.
Requirements:
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in electronics or 2 years of experience in industrial controls.
- Proficient in electronic circuitry and competent in troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Familiarity with PLCs, relay logic, and industrial control systems.
- Skilled in soldering and proficient in circuit assembly tasks.
- Experience using a Digital Multimeter (DMM) and troubleshooting 120VAC and 24VDC circuits, including wiring, relay logic, and PLC functions.
- Ability to prioritize personal safety while maintaining, troubleshooting, and diagnosing electrical components.
- Strong understanding of AC and DC circuitry, as well as relay integration methods and functionality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in various industrial environments.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and ability to gather necessary information for job completion.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Acrobat PDF.
- Adaptability to work in challenging conditions, including cold, dirty, elevated heights, confined spaces, rooftops, and ships.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $83,000 DOE
